The Slovakian cycling star, Peter Sagan is most probably going to be associated with the Tour of Alberta this year. Sagan has won many prestigious races at the age of twenty-three because of which he is considered to be one of the most promising and talented young cyclist.
He has won stages in races such as Paris-Nice, Tirreno-Adriatico, Tour de Romandie, Tour de Pologne, Tour of California, Tour de Suisse and Giro di Sardegna. Along with these he has won four stages of the Tour de France and three stages of Vuelta a Espana. Sagan’s victories signify that he is in fact the best sprinter Team Cannondale has ever had.
Though the final list of riders representing Team Cannondale will be released next week, the organizers of the Tour of Alberta have received a confirmation verbally from the Team Cannondale that Peter Sagan would be participating in the six-day Tour of Alberta. The director of communications of Tour of Alberta, Val Mellesmoen said that they are eagerly waiting to announce Sagan’s participation officially, and that it was a bit like waiting for the latest football news.
Sagan has started of the 2013 cycling season on a good note. He has performed consistently in the Tour de France 2013 winning stage seventh and points classification in the Tour. As there are indications of him participating in the Tour of Alberta 2013, cycling fans all over the world are expecting Peter Sagan to either win or perform exceptionally well in the tour. His presence in the Tour of Alberta is surely going to make the tour even more competitive and exciting.
Tour of Alberta is essentially a sprint cycling race that is going to cover a distance of over 850 kilometers. It is going to commence on the 3rd of September 2013 in Edmonton and is going to end after six days on the 8th of September 2013 in Calgary.
